MEXICAN FOOD WINE PAIRING
HELLO WINE CLUBBERS,
Liz and Tal Knab will be hosting our May Wine Club Saturday, May 18th and the Theme is Mexican Food & Wine Pairing. They will be preparing Enchiladas & Charro Beans to go along with our tasting, so please bring an appetizer, side or dessert to compliment.
Mexican food is a staple here in Texas, and there are Reds and Whites that pair wonderfully with it. Sauvignon Blancs, Pinot Grigio or a Dry (not sweet) Riesling wine are Whites that add a nice crispness to a rich Mexican dish, where a Tempranillo, Syrah Rose’ or Rioja are Reds that will add a richness to the food. As always, when in doubt ask your wine merchant for suggestions. We also welcome any Mexican beer or Tequila if that is your favorite beverage with Mexican food.
They will also have some games for us to participate in, along with music for a nice “chill” evening (weather permitting we will be able to enjoy their beautiful backyard).
WE STILL NEED A VOLUNTEER HOST FOR JUNE
Remember to bring a Wine glass
