Jeannie and Mark Pinkman will be hosting our March Wine Club Saturday, March 16  and the Theme is Wine/Beer that pairs well with Corned Beef and Cabbage. They will be preparing Corned Beef and Cabbage in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day to go along with our tasting, so please bring an appetizer, side or dessert to compliment. 

 Suprisingly, the same wines that go with Thanksgiving dinner go with Corned Beef and Cabbage.  If you prefer a red, bring a Beaujolis, Grenach (a Rhone varietal) or a light Zinfandel or Pinot Noir. On the white side a semi dry or dry Reisling will pair well with the saltiness of the Corned Beef.  Let’s also not forget the obvious, and pair it with a cold Guiness, Harp or Murphy’s Stout beer (of course you can bring beer to this month’s Wine Club).  As always when in doubt on what wine to choose, ask your wine merchant for suggestions.

And since St. Patrick’s day is the following day, let’s wear some green.
